18th Century Rustic Country French Commode in Sycamore is a classic and timeless example of rustic French style capturing a pragmatic efficiency that was deemed desirable in the days before walk-in closets, or even normal closets!  Sized to hold an entire wardrobe, it would have been placed in the bedroom but over time the design found uses in other rooms so that today the French commode is ubiquitous.
Crafted from solid planks of seasoned, old-growth sycamore, it features hand-crafted charm in its entirety, even on the hand-hewn back side.  The tailored architecture enables this piece to blend with a wide variety of casual decors, providing ample storage in the bargain.
At some point in recent years new solid brass ring pulls and key guards were added for ease of access, providing a neoclassical style accent.
