19th Century Country French Louis XIV Chiffoniere ~ Petite Commode is a fascinating derivation on the theme, designed as a lingerie chest or a silver chest, and usable today for a huge variety of purposes.  Hand-crafted from solid oak, including hand-cut dovetails on the drawer joints, it boasts five drawers in a cabinet that is about the size of a large nightstand.  The contoured bevel on the top follows the form of the casework below, with each of five drawers adorn3d with finely detailed molding and foliate motifs, centered with a cast brass knob.  The cornerposts are finely detailed and embellished with foliates, a rosette, and transition into the legs below carved with bold bearded Norsemen finished with cloven hoof feet.
