19th Century Country French Louis XV Commode ~ Chest of Drawers in Stripped Oak was meticulously hand-crafted by master artisans, and includes features not typically found.  Starting at the contoured apron of the base, which is supported by four scrolled legs, one's eye is drawn up the finely inset and chamfered side panels to the main facade, fitted with three large drawers, all contoured in the form called "en arbalette" by the French, resembling the shape of an archer's bow.  The drawers are also carved with three molded panels, each fitted with either a cast brass bale pull or a key guard.  The crown above follows the facade's contour, and consists of multiple tiers of molding which actually conceal a handkerchief drawer within!  Pegged mortise & tenon joinery is evident throughout the casework, reinforcing the exceptional quality of this instant family keepsake.  Hand-crafted from old-growth oak, the finish has been left natural revealing the sheer inherent beauty and patina of the wood.
