Antique Country French Commode in Stripped Oak was created in a transitional style combining the elegance of the neoclassic adornment and architecture with a baroque element in the structural base creating a timeless look that provides the best of both genres.  The rectilinear casework includes rounded cornerposts with laurels carved at the top as well as surrounding the base of the bold acanthus plume appearing on the shoulder of the leg below.  The apron on all sides consists of an undulating form, with a laurel swag intertwined into the apron's base at the front displaying particular skill and artistry on the part of the cabinetmaker.  Rosettes appear on the four corners of each drawer facade, otherwise adorned only by cast brass bale pulls and key guards for a tailored, sophisticated look.  The elegance of the design is tempered towards the casual side by the stripped oak finish, performed by our expert in-house staff without the use of petrochemicals leaving the natural beauty and patina of the old-growth oak intact!
