Antique Country French Stripped Oak Commode with Cabinet is a splendid example of imaginative cabinetry at its finest!  Appearing at first glance to be a three drawer commode, it is in fact a one drawer commode, with the top two "drawers" actually cabinet doors that open to reveal a wonderful storage space above.  The uses to which one could put such a piece make it suitable for all rooms in the home or office, including use in the bedroom, study, dining room, you name it!  The subtly contoured and beveled top features a shape continued in the casework below, with the facade lavished with fine hand-carved detailing including crests, foliates, shells and cross hatching.  The apron below expands upon the theme, with a pierce-carved centerpiece that is an amazing bit of sculpture on its own.  The rounded cornerposts are carved with complementary motifs, and feature scrolled legs with escargot feet.  Even the sides add to the visual effect with recessed panels, contoured apron and scrolled back legs.  Painstakingly stripped using our proprietary, non-toxic process that retains the natural beauty and patina of the wood.
