Antique French Louis XIV Commode in Stripped Oak represents the ideal combination of form and function!  Crafted from solid oak to last for generations, it features a subtly contoured to with bold molded detail overlooking the casework which is designed with generously rounded front corner posts which are carved with foliate and floral motifs, leading the eye down to the pediment-style feet.  Behind the cornerposts are chamfered panels surrounded by the sturdy framework with a scrolled and carved apron below, and pediment feet even in the back!  The front facade, however, steals the show, with three full width drawers accessed with elegantly cast brass pulls centered on finely molded facades, carved on both sides with a lavish floral and foliate design that is truly captivating.  The facades are carved from single planks and feature the same subtle bowed front contour as the top.  Drawers open to reveal capacious storage, and below appears the intricately embellished apron, centered with a complementary foliate and floral design in full relief framed by elegant acanthus leaf scrollwork pierced on each side for extra visual appeal.  The stripped oak finish provides a casual effect and soft appearance that will endear it to most any decor!
