Early 19th Century Copper & Brass Tea Kettle is a charming reminder of a bygone era, when vessels such as this were hand-made by metal smiths trained in their skills by their forefathers.  Note the hand-dovetailed and soldered seams and hand-hammered copper rivets.  The bi-metal handle is hollow with holes drilled on either end to facilitate heat dissipation.  Note there are several examples of re-soldering over the decades clearly indicating that treasures such as this were designed to last for centuries, and just needed a little TLC every few decades.
Circa 1820s
