19th Century French Louis XVI Rosewood Triple Display Armoire ~ Bookcase is of a breed that is becoming almost impossible to find on the Continent.  The highly prized rosewood was imported from the Americas during the 19th century for the English and French furniture manufacturing, primarily, and was considered rare then.  Now virtually unobtainable, the value of such artifacts continues to rise as new generations learn of the wonderful qualities of the wood.  Being rare and expensive meant that only the finest furniture houses could afford it, therefore the pieces from which it was made are always top-notch!  This example is no exception, with tailored lines enhanced by the cross-matching of the grain patterns, and architecture inspired by ancient Greece and Rome resplendent in the center arched three-panel design.  Four carved finials rest atop the façade columns, which are fluted and rest on plinths below which separate the three lower drawers.  Interior shelves are set on adjustable mounts.  Full length beveled glazing allows one to display one's prized possessions and family heirlooms in style!
