Antique French Louis XVI Stripped Oak Washstand ~ Dresser with Carrara Marble will make the perfect choice for conversion to a sink vanity, or just to add to your bedroom decor.  The two levels of the luxurious Carrara marble provide plenty of carefree surface area allowing you freedom to use the piece for a wide variety of purposes.  The marble rests atop the sturdy solid oak casework, which features two spacious drawers and cabinet doors that open to allow unencumbered access to the surprising storage below.  The drawers are simply adorned with tailored molding around the perimeter, then fitted with brass bale pulls which complement the key guards that appear between the drawers and on each cabinet door.  The front cornerposts are rounded and carved with laurel motif above and a rosette below, the latter of which provide a framework for the apron traverse bordered with bead and dash.  Each cabinet door is finely framed and features a checkerboard oval panel adorned with ribbon on a raised panel.  Above the two-tiered marble appears the original hand-beveled mirror set in a beautiful frame including side corbels with floral rosettes and wheat bordering topped with a double-arched crown.  The painstaking proprietary process of stripping by our expert in-house staff reveals the natural beauty and retains the patina of the densely grained old-growth oak for a splendid texture and soft visual appeal!
