27H x 36W x 16D
Location: Dallas
A beautiful 18th century Country French oak side table with a wonderfully aged surface, elegant carved base and remarkable patina developed over centuries. The oak has mellowed to warm, softly varied tones, with the natural wear and texture that give early furniture its unmistakable depth and individuality.
The long top with rounded ends is carried on four curved legs, each hand carved with scrolling and foliate details. An elaborate cross stretcher sweeps between the legs in a fluid pattern, bringing an unexpected refinement to the table’s rustic construction. Rounded feet complete the base and add to its distinctive silhouette.
Rustic in character yet refined in its lines, this antique Country French table has the warmth and relaxed beauty that make 18th century provincial furniture so desirable. Its narrow scale also makes it particularly versatile as a side table, occasional table or small console.
Circa late 1700s
