18th Century French Louis XVI Period Marble Top End Table is a true testament to hand-crafted traditional furniture craft!  Utilizing choice old-growth oak, the sculptors created a fully carved apron, including pierce-carved center sections depicting the royal torchere and carquois de fleche, symbolizing the everlasting power of the monarchy.  Exquisite full relief scrolls and foliates flank the carvings, with floral swags all around "held" in place by tassels.  Even the luxuriously veined marble top is framed by hand-carved egg & dart molding all around.  Not to be outdone, the tapered and fluted legs feature integral laurels with berries spiraled around down to the lower stretcher, itself of note due to the flaming urn finial draped with floral swags.  A stunning example of true artwork, not just furniture!
