18th Century Liégeois Louis XV Hand Carved Oak End Table was beautifully crafted in solid oak with a single drawer, shaped apron, cabriole legs, and deeply carved foliate detail.  The carving continues across the front, sides, and back, making this a fully finished piece that can stand confidently in the middle of a room, not only against a wall.
The regional Liégeois craftsmanship is especially evident in the graceful movement of the apron, the scrolling carved decoration, and the elegant balance of the proportions.  The table has a wonderful sense of refinement while still retaining the warmth and honesty of solid oak country furniture.
The oak has developed a beautiful patina, with depth, softness, and surface character that only centuries of age can create.  Its scale makes it especially versatile as an antique end table beside a favorite chair, a small console between windows, an accent table in an entry, or a graceful piece floated in a sitting room where the finished back and all around carving can be fully appreciated.
A lovely example of 18th century Liégeois antique furniture, combining hand carved detail, practical scale, and the timeless romance of authentic European craftsmanship.
