19th Century French Louis XVI Mahogany Marble Top Gueridon ~ Round End Table was crafted by master artisans during the Belle Epoque, and features jewelry-quality bronze castings as adornment around the entire perimeter.  Lovingly crafted from exotic imported mahogany, it features a perfectly circular shape, which makes it ideal for any seating group in any part of the room.  Starting at the top, we have a Carrara marble surface surrounded by a pierced brass gallery rail.  Underneath, a nicely sized drawer occupies one fourth of the facade, but the four motifs are identical all around with cast bronze molding and finely figured key guard/mount.  In between atop the legs we find an intricate casting featuring the timeless torchere and carquois de fleche, symbols of French royalty.  Bronze collars and cast bronze foot tips adorn the gracefully tapered legs which are joined on the way down to the floor with a shelf fitted with brass guards following the concave shape.  A magnificent feat of design and classic architecture in a diminutive size!
