19th Century French Louis XVI Oval Marble Top Gilded End Table with Wedgwood Inset is an incredible example of Belle Epoque elegance and refinement!  Hand-crafted from solid fruitwood, it features carved ribbon, foliate and banding motifs from the cloven hoof feet up the very subtly scrolled legs to the incredible apron.  The apron features Wedgwood porcelain insets on each side surrounded in a frame with ribbon and bow, and underneath the apron encircling the entire work are sculpted rose garlands.  All the carved detail is highlighted in gold which has achieved a lovely patina, as has the original painted finish of the rest of the wood design.  A stunningly veined marble top with cove bevel was selected to provide the perfect finishing touch on top to complete the essence of carefree opulence.
