19th Century Italian Hand-Carved Carrara Marble Pedestal will make the ideal platform for you to display your prized sculpture, vase or objet d'art!  Sculpted from luxurious Carrara marble, the choice of sculptors for centuries, it features a tiered barley twist design, one that was made popular during the Byzantine period, and later adopted by the Venetians, and remaining desirable through today!  The thick, circular top and solid marble shaft will support amazing weight, especially when combined with the octagonal base.  Just above the base is an urn form topped with a leafy rim from which emanates the lower barley twist tier, which is separated by a spiral grooved circular spacer, then the upper barley twist tier.  Some would say the pedestal itself is art, and needs nothing else to adorn your home!
