Antique French Louis XVI Mahogany End Table ~ Library Table

Antique French Louis XVI Mahogany End Table ~ Library Table is a tailored expression of the classical style inspired by ancient Greece and Rome!  Created from exotic imported mahogany, it features a plank top surrounded by banded wheat edging and with protruding, rounded corners situated over rounded rosettes under which the gracefully tapered and fluted column legs are mounted.  The legs are carved with acanthus motif at the juncture of double bowed stretchers that meet in the middle with an elongated beveled block, with each leg under that juncture transitioning to a leg and foot with lotus blossom carvings.  On each side appears a convenient drawer, making this table as functional as it is pleasing to behold.
