Antique French Louis XVI Neoclassical Mahogany End Table with Carrara Marble

Antique French Louis XVI Neoclassical Mahogany End Table with Carrara Marble is a truly unusual expression of the style, with details that can only fully be appreciated in person!  Topped with classic Carrara marble, the stone is surrounded by a pierced brass gallery rail.  Look closely and you'll see a pattern in the flats under the pierced tier which is repeated on the gallery rail around the shelf below as well.  The top of the piece houses a drawer defined by beaded trim and fitted with a ring pull with guard, all in brass.  Both sides feature matching recessed panels framed with beaded trim.  Each corner is part of the support posts that go all the way to the brass tips of the feet below.  The corners at the top are all accented with brass louvers appearing over double molded wraparound trim also in brass.  The effect is such that the table can be placed anywhere in the room ~ any room ~ one so desires.
