Pair 19th Century French Louis XVI Painted Oval End Tables with Marble are a superlative find!  Crafted in the neoclassical style in an oval shape, with oval openings on front and back and caned sides, they are remarkably light in visual impact, yet each provides three marble surfaces for your utter enjoyment.  The intricately embellished casework includes laurel bordering underneath the molding surrounding the top marble, with the same laurel bordering motif applied around each oval opening front and back.  Rosettes fill the somewhat triangular space between the oval openings and the cane above and below.  The openings allow access to the middle and lower marble shelves.  The caned sides allow light in and are overlaid with hand-sculpted laurel swags with tassels to add to the amazing detail.  A fluted apron below leads the eye to the four tapered and fluted legs.  The overall works were painted in a pastel blueish-green with a darker bluish-green used for contrasting highlights.  Perfect for placement anywhere in any room!
