19th Century French Faux Bamboo Armoire recalls the heady days of the Belle Epoque, a period in France of enviable prosperity and burgeoning of the arts. This style was born from an insatiable fascination with what was then called The Orient, and represented the technique of simulating bamboo using indigenous old growth yellow pine and maple woods. The tailored, rectilinear architecture is enhanced at the top with crossed "bamboo" molding as one would see on the roof of a structure, flanked by turned finials. Bold "bamboo" molding pervades the design, and provides a framework for the full length mirror mounted on the door, as well as the capacious drawer below. The door opens to reveal a shelf and an interior drawer. Although tall, it will still fit in a home with 8 foot ceilings...
