19th Century French Louis Philippe Period Mahogany Armoire represents the epitome of tailored, understated elegance!  The era is known for its avoidance of fanciful carved or bronze mounted ornamentation, rather reveling in the sheer natural beauty of the exotic imported mahogany brought by sailing vessel from the Americas.  The architecture includes a boldly molded crown and subtly mitered cornerposts, with finely framed double panels on the doors and similar molding used on the astragal between the doors, as well as framing the drawers which also feature turned pulls.  Carved wood key guards were used, as well as turned bun feet for added visual interest, expressing the refinement in ways which the French excelled.  Doors open wide to reveal a cavernous interior, and individual exterior drawers add organizational functionality with flair.
