19th Century French Louis XV Walnut Armoire is the embodiment of grace, style and elegance!  Hand-crafted from sumptuous French walnut, it features a boldly carved arched crown above an artfully sculpted bonnet that immediately catches one's eye.  A young maiden beset by stormy seas and winds is attended to and comforted by a visiting angel as the sculptural centerpiece.  Acanthus fronds on the corners hint at wave crests, as well.  Below the corners are carved with rich foliate designs, flanking the bonnet resplendent with floral swags and a bouquet at the center in its own circular framework.  Each of the two doors below are contoured on the top to follow the intricate lines of the bonnet, with carved foliate accents that again, resemble wave crests.  The original full length beveled mirrors are housed in the framework of the doors, hung by external brass hinges allowing them to open wide revealing the spacious interior complete with three adjustable shelves.  A full width drawer below adds storage opportunity, and is carved with complementary floral and foliate designs, then flanked by scrolled and carved legs.  Over eight feet tall at the top of the crest, it is only 18 inches deep, making it more traffic friendly than most.
