Antique French Louis XVI Armoire ~ Wardrobe in Stripped Oak boasts a restrained expression of the neoclassic style that will remain in vogue for another millennium!  The rectilinear casework is enhanced by a centered, double arched crown enhanced by scrolls and a sconce motif, above which appears a beautifully sculpted floral wreath with sprays, which is followed by the contours of the center door into which has been mounted a generously sized beveled mirror.  The center door is flanked by two side doors, each of which feature beveled mirrors on the top portion, and a finely molded raised panel below with parquet and carved neoclassical accents.  Below the doors are three exterior drawers fitted with brass key guards that incidentally match those on the doors, with a finely trimmed apron and tapered legs finishing out the facade in front.  The facade is framed by rounded corners carved with foliates above and a generous rectangular foliate rosette on the base, leading the eye to the three chamfered side panels that provide adequate depth to allow one to store anything at all inside, including hanging clothes!  Open the three doors and you'll find convenient shelving on the right, and a hanging area complete with brass rod on the left.  An ideal choice for rooms with inadequate closet space, its appearance is softened by stripping which reveals the natural beauty and appearance of the wood, making this choice ideal for more contemporary decors as well!
