19th Century French Empire Mahogany Marble Top Buffet is a marvel of the cabinetmaker's art!  First, exotic imported mahogany was employed to create a rich, beautiful background using tailored architectural styling.  Then, intricate castings in solid bronze were applied with designs inspired by ancient Egyptian, Greek and Roman art.  The bronze embellishments adorn the baseboard, pilasters, doors, and drawer tier, and include images of angels, scepters, wreaths, lyres, and the likeness of a goddess on the rounded side doors, all creating a timeless sense of elegance and opulence.  The doors open to reveal special attention paid even to the interior, with inlaid bordering and fine veneering designed to please the owner, and the owner alone.  Lastly, a particularly splendid slab of marble was selected for the top, contoured and beveled to follow the graceful contours of the casework below for the perfect finishing touch!
