19th Century French Louis Philippe Period Buffet represents a unique period in French history when the resumption of the Bourbon dynasty was undertaken with a level of austerity that reflected in the design and ornamentation of furniture across the entire country!  This example, rendered from old-growth fruitwood, reflects the tailored architecture of the era with a subtly scrolled drawer tier and stark rectilinear casework below.  Devoid of carved embellishment or bronze mounts, the look is compatible with many other styles, from formal to rustic.  In addition to the generous serving surface, it features a pair of drawers atop three yawning cabinets able to store an entire family's china, glassware and flatware collection.  Cast brass pulls and key guards provide just the right touch of ornamentation to complete the look.
