19th Century French Louis XIV Marble Top Mahogany Buffet ~ Cabinet is an unusually beautiful expression of the cabinetmaker's art, crafted on an unusual scale!  Luxurious 3 centimeter marble top is beveled to follow the contour of the casework below, which is crafted from hand-select exotic mahogany.  The grain patterns that have been presented, particularly on the doors, create a wonderfully unique facade, especially since they are graced with highly detailed, artfully rendered cast bronze molding and framework detailing.  Even the cornerposts are fitted with bronze mounts and bronze shoulder caps that run down the subtly scrolled legs to terminate in the paw feet.  The sides feature four oriented-grain veneer patterns framed with bronze trim plus flourishes and an angel's face at the lower end.  The doors open wide thanks to outboard mounted brass hinges that reveal surprising storage inside with one shelf.  An incredible amount of detail and quality packed into a diminutive package!
