19th Century French Louis XVI Painted Buffet is a splendid example of the neoclassical revival of the late 1800s, all rendered from solid old-growth white oak to beautify your home for centuries!  Designed on an up-sized scale, it accommodates more storage capacity than normal two door buffets.  The mitered corners soften the impact on the traffic pattern of the room.  The solid base consists of flared feet and scrolled openings.  What steals the show, however, is the astounding carved detail that appears from the top to the base!  Wildflowers are framed by fine molded detail on the drawer facades, with a center plinth carved with a framed floral bouquet.  The center stile under that plinth features complementary carvings that lead the eye down to the wonderfully crafted and embellished base.  On the way, notice the exquisite relief sculpture of musical instruments on each door, with a different study on each, glorifying French traditional culture and the magic of music.  All of the carved detail is enhanced by the patinaed painted finish which provides stunning highlights and softens the overall visual impact.  Brass keyguards and drawer pulls complete the look.
