Antique French Louis XIV Buffet is an amazing work of the cabinetmaker's art! The casework features mitered corners and a step-out center pilaster that creates a contour that is mirrored by the solid plank top. The drawers just below the top are lavished with carved detail and fitted with cast brass bale pulls. The center stile features a modicum of carved embellishment, and serves as a divider between the cabinet doors which are the primary visual focus, having been adorned with shell and foliate motifs on an elaborate yet stately framed panel design. The apron below is quite interesting with scrollwork and carved embellishment as well, blending into the sturdy pediment-style feet.
