Antique French Louis XVI Walnut Marble Top Buffet

Antique French Louis XVI Walnut Marble Top Buffet was luxuriously sculpted from sumptuous French walnut, and features neoclassic styling that dates back to ancient Greece and Rome!  The total depth of 20 inches is deceiving, because the case design utilizes rounded sides that present a very "soft" footprint to your room, with no sharp corners.  Starting with tapered and fluted legs below, it features tailored molding throughout, with a step-front center section between the aforementioned rounded sides that is defined by rounded cornerposts exquisitely carved with cascading floral sprays.  The main cabinet door displays the sheer natural beauty of the walnut extremely well, and is enhanced with relief carvings of ribbon and floral sprays at the top, with a contoured raised panel to add to the framework.  The same motif was employed on the rounded sides, yet on the curved surface more difficult to execute.  The drawer tier above also represents a tailored approach in design, with beaded molding accentuating the framework.  Cast bronze wreaths are the subject of the drawer pulls, with intricately cast key guards on the three cabinet doors below providing a complement.  Doors open wide, and the two side drawers pivot out to provide a wealth of storage and organizational possibilities.
