Antique Liegoise Buffet ~ Credenza ~ Silver Chest

Antique Liegoise Buffet ~ Credenza ~ Silver Chest is a marvel of the art of furniture craft!  Designed with a step-front drawer section and fine framing on all three sides, it is a great choice as a singular piece on a given wall, or in combination with other pieces in a larger room.  Intended for a family that had a large silver collection, the drawers and cabinet shelves are lined in treated felt which retards tarnishing.  Brass pulls, hinges and key guards add a nice touch, but the carved detailing truly steals the show!  Stylized shell, scrollwork and foliates dominate the design, with even the cornerposts on the step-front and the main cornerposts also carved and embellished.  The cabinet doors are works of art unto themselves, with a more elaborate rendition of the same combination of themes, executed in higher relief, and echoed on the undulating aprons below which are punctuated with scrolled legs carved with acanthus plumes and escargot feet.  Even the sides are represented with a pair of raised panels and fine molded detailing.  The generous surface can be used for any purpose ~ in fact this will prove to be perhaps one of the most versatile pieces in your heirloom collection!
