19th Century French Directoire Mahogany Commode exudes the understated elegance for which the style is world renowned!  Crafted from exotic mahogany imported from the Americas during the last century, it features slightly protruding, rounded corners that soften the impact on the room.  Three capacious drawers are in the design, each accessed with squared brass bale pulls.  Brass shield medallion style key guards adorn the center of each drawer.  Four turned legs provide support.  The overall design is quite restrained, as is the style's dictum, allowing it to showcase the sheer natural beauty of the wood.  Note the pegged mortise & tenon joinery and the chamfered solid sycamore panels in the back, hallmarks of the finest furniture crafters!
