19th Century French Louis Philippe Period Marble Top Commode is a timeless expression of one of the most endearing styles to emanate from Europe during that century!  Abandoning carved embellishments, the style features tailored architecture designed to accentuate the sheer natural beauty of the finely figured woods used in its construction.  Topped with period-correct gray marble with white veining, it features a groove on the edge earning the moniker "sandwich" marble.  The overall design features the trademark scrolled top tier which also houses a full width drawer.  Three main drawers below that are adorned with bookmatched burl walnut for an exotic natural look!  Early in the period it was customary to use a key as a pull, to retain a fully tailored look to glorify the natural beauty of the wood.  In this case, high quality cast bronze key guards were chosen for a regal effect.  Subtly styled and beautifully rendered, the style is compatible with most any decor and arrangement, and will provide generations of enjoyment for your family.
