19th Century French Louis Philippe Period Walnut Commode is an intriguing example of the genre, hand-crafted from indigenous French walnut in the definitive style of the era, and adorned with bookmatched veneer across the drawer facade formed from the crotch of the branches to create a visually appealing naturalistic grain pattern.  The subtle serpentine form of the topmost tier conceals a full width drawer, and the form is mirrored in the feet below, with tailored, rectilinear casework in between that houses three capacious full width drawers.  Left in its original state, brass guards on the keyholes are the only interruption in the facade, with no pulls or knobs.  A key or two will be provided that can be kept handy or left in the locks to serve as pulls, as originally intended for the design.  The exquisite natural beauty of the old-growth wood shines forth on the top as well, providing warmth to the look that will keep this style popular for centuries to come!
