19th Century French Louis XV Walnut Marble Top Commode is a classic example of pure, understated elegance!  Hand-crafted from sumptuous select French walnut, it features a subtly scrolled apron all around below, supported by scrolled legs the front two of which are carved with scrollworks and acanthus plumes.  Centered on the contoured apron is an asymmetrical foliate design.  Other than tailored molding, the sides and three drawers directly above the apron remain otherwise unadorned allowing one to more fully appreciate the sheer natural beauty of Europe's most highly prized indigenous furniture wood.  The upper drawer departs from the norm, with carved corbels appearing on the cornerposts, and banners carved to resemble shells on each side.  All four drawers are centered with Rococo style cast brass key guards for an interesting visual touch.  On top appears a luxuriously veined selection of marble honed to perfection to create the perfect carefree display surface!
