Antique French Louis XVI Mahogany Commode with Carrara Marble is an elegant example of the style!  The luxuriously veined Carrara marble on top makes for the perfect display surface, and provides wonderful contrast with the rich, dark wood below.  Directly underneath the marble are three full width drawers, with the lower, larger two encircled with a singular brass trim, coordinating with the brass trim on the topmost, most shallow drawer.  Each drawer is fitted with a brace of brass ring pulls and centered with a nicely cast key guard.  Brass rings and foot tips also adorn the tapered & fluted legs.  A perfect example of understated and refined opulence!
