Antique French Louis XVI Mahogany Petite Commode with Carrara Marble Top is sized so that it can serve in a wide variety of applications throughout the home, and do it in classical style!  One immediately notices the luxurious Carrara marble surface with its white appearance enhanced by light gray veining.  The edge of the marble is completely trimmed and protected by a brass gallery rail, which also helps keep things on top, and follows the intricate contour of the casework below which features bold serpentine sides.  Each cornerpost is rounded and fluted, and transitions into a tapered leg fitted with brass caps on the feet.  Between the front corners appears four drawers with a subtly curved facade centered with medallion style ring pulls and guards, cast in solid brass.  A wonderful choice as a chiffonier or lingerie chest, it is also ideal for cozy spots, seating groups, as a bedside companion, or anywhere a little flare and convenience is needed, this wonderful piece exudes a subtle elegance that makes the fine imported mahogany, marble and brass work perfectly together!
