Antique French Louis XVI Mahogany Semainier Chest of 7 Drawers was a prized possession of the affluent back when first conceived, providing a different drawer for every day of the week!  Today the design is prized for its capacity combined with an incredibly small footprint and therefore impact on the room and its traffic pattern.  This example is less than 15" deep!  Crafted from fine imported mahogany, it features a staid, rectilinear form accented with the seven drawer facades each of which is embellished in a restrained fashion with ring pulls with embossed guards, finely cast keyhole guards, and brass trim for a framework.  The brass trim is continued on the pair of side panels each side, along with brass tips on the tapered legs below.  Topped with luxuriously veined Carrara marble for the perfect carefree touch of elegance.
