Antique Italian Painted Commode boasts a subtle expression of the Baroque revival crafted by talented artisans who crafted the bow-front, serpentine casework with four elegantly scrolled legs, then carved tailored accents such as a shell centered on the undulating apron, acanthus plumes and escargot feet on the legs.  Boldly cast brass rosette drawer pulls provide both form and function, but the mastery of the painted embellishment is an expression of art in its truest form.  A bold floral bouquet spans the gap between the two spacious full-width drawers, another centered on the top with two flanking bouquets, and even bouquets appearing on each serpentine side, all surrounded by elaborate borderwork.  Gold accents highlight the aforementioned carved detail for the perfect finishing touch.
