Stunning 19th Century Italian Baroque Hand-Carved Commode is truly a one-of-a-kind masterwork of the sculptor's art!  Only rarely do we find such incredible feats of craftsmanship.  Presenting a truly unique opportunity for the discriminating collector, this amazing piece features a contoured, beveled top  with corner projections upheld by boldly scrolled corbels carved with acanthus plumes.  The cornerposts are mitered and molded with a tapered trim that leads the eye down to the elegantly scrolled legs also carved with acanthus plumes and flaring out gracefully for a wide, impressive stance.  The boldly scrolled apron is also carved with foliate and scrollwork motifs, and is separated from the drawer tier by a molded ledge.  The three drawers are works of art unto themselves, featuring subtle bowed fronts, elaborate carved relief in multiple levels with stylized shell and foliate motifs all intertwined, and framing the cast bronze drawer pulls.
