19th Century French Louis XVI Pewter Jardiniere was designed as a centerpiece, either for the dining or center table, and allowed the owner to display fresh flowers and greenery without a care, thanks to the inset tin drip pan.  This design features a combination of Rococo and Neoclassical motifs for a transitional Louis XVI style that transcends the ages.  A cherub appears on the primary side, with the timeless torchere and carquois de fleche symbols on the reverse, indicating the power and longevity of the French monarchy.
