19th Century French Neoclassical Painted Wall Shelf ~ Mantel is an astounding display of timeless style rendered by master sculptors to create a seminal decorative accent that can serve as either a shelf or atop the fireplace to provide a finishing touch to your mantel and hearth.  Rendered in meticulous detail from top to bottom, it features bold urn motifs with pineapple capitals set on flared and fluted pediments which flank the intricately carved drown above the top bowed shelf.  The crown depicts facing scrollworks surrounded by artfully rendered acanthus leaves.  Even the finely beaded upper shelf is supported by three acanthus plume corbels mounted to the face of the back panel which is finely molded and scrolled on each end in bas relief to provide contrast to the bold full relief of the corbels themselves.  The lower shelf is finely molded and extends out the full depth for artful display.  The patinaed painted finish creates a light and airy effect and adds distinction to the visual allure.
