19th Century French Louis XV Walnut Marble Top Nightstand

19th Century French Louis XV Walnut Marble Top Nightstand was crafted from select French walnut and features an elegant yet somewhat restrained design that will add subtle distinctiveness to any room!  Originally designed for the bedroom, since it is finished on all four sides it also makes a great choice as a side table companion for any seating group.  The main facade boasts a full width drawer with turned & carved knob set upon a framework of asymmetrical molded detail, continued on the the cabinet door below.   Rococo inspired carved moldings create visual impact, and on each corner appears supports that extend from the top to the feet, carved in between with foliate, acanthus leaf and escargot motifs.  The subtle undulations of the apron have been finely molded with a modicum of carved detail on the facade.  Door opens to reveal a marble-lined interior.  Contoured gray veined marble with a drip ridge around the perimeter provides a carefree yet elegant surface.
