Pair Antique Italian Neoclassical Painted Oval Nightstands ~ End Tables are an excellent choice to add a timeless touch to any decor!  Originally designed as bedside companions, they are oval in shape and finished completely all around, making them excellent choices for seating groups of all types, even for placement in the center of the room!  The rich, dark ivory of the painted finish has attained a lovely patina over the course of almost a century, and is completely enhanced by the hand-carved embellishments highlighted in gold for opulent contrast.  The carvings depict classic foliates, rosettes, spiral ribbon and egg & dart motifs, creating borders and delineation of a sublime nature.  On the front side appears a drawer, fitted with a cast brass pull and contoured to follow the oval shape, under which is a single cabinet door, which opens via a matching brass pull to reveal a porcelain lined interior.  Support is provided by four tapered, fluted and finely painted legs.  The tops are fitted with glass to protect the surface.
