18th Century Relic ~ Baroque Period Sculpture of Saint in Hand-Carved Oak

18th Century Baroque Period Relic of Saint in Hand-Carved Oak was the product of a talented Flemish sculptor depicting a fully robed saint holding a cross with one hand and the other hand over his heart.  The relief work is carved on an egg shaped plaque surrounded by exuberant foliate motifs, pierce carved around the central figure for a splendid visual effect.
