19th Century French Gothic Walnut Buffet is a refined expression of the style which is considered one of the oldest furniture styles from France, dating back to the mid-12th century.  This splendid example was rendered from sumptuous French walnut, and features a double beveled top over a triple drawer tier, with the side drawers embellished with fluting and rosettes, and the middle drawer with a pyramidal form flanked by floral sprays.  All three drawers are framed by neoclassical corbels and fitted with hand-cast bronze pulls.  The corbels are situated atop four tapered and fluted columns, the outermost affixed to the outer cabinet doors with external barrel hinges allowing unfettered access.  Doors and drawers open to reveal capacious storage with adjustable shelves.  Each door is also fitted with a matching cast bronze key guard.  The outermost doors feature classic Gothic styling, with a more elaborate rendition reserved for the larger center door, which also features a shield crest motif at its focal point.  Bold base molding and bun feet complete the look.
