19th Century French Renaissance Buffet with Fox & Hound combines expert hand-craftsmanship with artistic sculpture to create a master work that all will admire!  The timeless casework includes boldly carved molding from the top edge to the prominent base below, fitted with bun feet.  Two drawers on top feature dog's heads for pulls, framed with raised foliate work and flanked by boldly sculpted rosettes on the corners that appear above the pilasters below that flank the cabinet doors.  The pilasters boast some intriguing detail of their own that must be examined closely to be fully appreciated, but the two cabinet doors truly steal the show.  On the left set upon a lush background we see the hound searching for his prey, and on the right set against a similar forest backdrop we see the clever fox evading his pursuer.  Doors and drawers open up to provide wonderful storage in the bargain!
