19th Century French Renaissance Dessert Buffet ~ Server is a marvelous choice for a narrow space, next to a cased opening, or between windows just to name a few.  Only 29" wide, it provides just enough surface for one to display special heirlooms, serve desserts, or just to add Old World flair to the room.  Hand-crafted from old-growth oak, it features a pierce-carved sculpted crown depicting scrollwork, foliates and a lion's head with brass ring.  The crown rests upon a gallery rail flanked by turned finials, and overlooks a shallow upper shelf.  The shelf is supported by finely turned columns which rest on the main surface and flank the back panel adorned with tailored molding.  The main surface appears above a full-width drawer festooned with carved detail that wraps all around the piece, and which is fitted with an intricate bale pull and guard in brass which matches the key guards on the cabinet below.  The drawer tier appears above another secondary surface, also flanked by finely turned columns, positioned above the lower cabinet, which has matching columns on the corners which provide a framework for the lavishly carved door panels depicting bounty-of-the-earth motifs.  Bold molding and bun-style feet complete the look.
