19th Century French Renaissance Hunt Buffet in Stripped Oak is an amazing work of art that also happens to be an incredibly functional buffet!  Designed with rounded sides to create an extremely traffic-friendly footprint, it has been carved and molded across the entire facade creating a visual feast for the eyes from all angles!  The gadrooned top rests on a drawer tier that starts at each rear with a magnificently sculpted pilaster depicting a lion's head with the bounty of the earth spewing forth, atop which appears a rosette, transitioning to the rounded drawer facade with carved foliates and a lion's head integral to the carving that serves as the drawer pull.  At the next juncture appears another pair of carved pilasters that frame the central section of two cabinets topped with drawers that are carved to complement the rounded sides.  The carvings on the cabinet doors are simply works of the sculptor's art, with bounty of the earth on the rounded sides, and the fruit of the hunt depicted in glorious full relief on each of the two center doors.  Incredible molded detail, stylized shell, scrollwork and foliate accents all surround the works of art.  Below is a multi-tiered base with gadrooning to match the top, supported by bun feet.  Cabinets and drawers open to reveal voluminous storage, making this piece as functional as it is a masterpiece of the furniture maker's art!
