19th Century French Renaissance Revival Corner Cabinet combines master craftsmanship in the cabinetry with artistic excellence in sculpture to create a piece that can not only enhance a room, but also utilize an otherwise empty corner!  Three surfaces are presented with the upper tier, framed by boldly scrolled side panels accented with scrollwork and acanthus plumes.  The main surface is edged with foliate bordering, with the cornerposts set at right angles to each other, and topped with full relief busts of hunting dogs.  A drawer facade following the quarter-circle form of the cabinet is just under the main surface, and is carved with complementary scrolls and centered with a crest motif.  The drawer pulls straight out, unlike other designs that pivot.  Under that is the main cabinet, with two rounded doors following the same quarter circle form, each opening to surprising storage within.  The carvings on the outside of the door panels are amazing examples of sculpture, glorifying masculine themes of the enjoyment of tobacco on one side, and hunting on the other, with each full relief sculpture framed by boldly carved arched molding.  The doors themselves are bracketed by amazing columns on the cornerposts, with carved capitals, barley twist, foliates and faceted turrets.  The base is supported by finely molded plinth blocks adorned with lions' heads.
