19th Century Italian Renaissance Walnut Buffet is truly a masterpiece of the cabinetmaker's art!  Utilizing fine indigenous walnut, the craftsmen created a unique look that combines neoclassical magnificence with the elaborate decorations inspired by the Renaissance to create a singular look.  The spacious gadrooned top is only 38.5 inches tall, making it useful as a buffet, credenza, or even behind a tall sofa.  The top tier consists of three foliate-adorned drawers with carved pulls separated by pyramidal blocks and flanked by corbels carved with acanthus fronds.  Below one finds three cabinets, with the two outboard doors lavished with intertwined cornucopias bursting with the bounty of the earth, accented by amazing foliate scrollwork and flowing ribbon.  The center door commands attention with a stunning Grecian urn overflowing with fruit and vegetables, with foliates and cascading bell flowers, all executed in glorious full relief.  The three panels are separated by boldly carved stiles and flanked on each side by elaborately carved pilasters depicting heraldic crests and intriguing foliate designs.  The top of the baseboard is carved to match the top, and is supported by large lions' paws to complete the look.
