Antique Hand-Carved Gothic Revival Raised Cabinet is of a type that was originally designed for easy access to frequently used items, and desirable in pretty much all rooms of the home and office.  Hand-crafted from beautiful, solid oak, it features a classically inspired architecture that is lavished with the geometric and naturally inspired carved detail that defines the Gothic style, which has its origins in mid-12th century France.  A pair of linenfold panels grace each side, separated from the front by mitered corners adorned with column and spire motifs.  Each of the two door panels feature stylized molding detail with a crest at the center and accents of rosettes.  Doors open wide including what is typically a center stile to provide total access to the shelving storage within, which can easily be adapted to your needs.  Doors are hung with finely forged strap hinges and affixed together with a bar lock on riveted back plate.  Bold molding pervades the design above and at the mid-section, where the piece transitions from cabinet to open display shelf  with pierce-carved embellishments, spiral carvings on the mitered corners, and more linenfold panels at the back.  The tailored base completes the look.
Circa early 1900s.
